Dental appointments done? Check.

…. Well, at least for a bit. Five visits in one month has been hard on my psyche, but I still have some cavities that need to get filled. The unfortunate bit is, my dental plan is running out, and on top of that, I’m moving so the awesome dentist I just discovered won’t be at my disposal anymore.

I have some cavities that still need filling however, but I’ll have to sort out finances with that later. Cavities are expensive, but at least he showed me how to brush properly.

In other excellent news, I’ve found out that there is indeed a darkroom rental place in the town that I’m moving to. Considering the town has only 10,000 people, I’m pleasently surprised. It’s actually located within a youth centre, but I’m a youth… sort of. Regardless I’m sure I can use it, so I’m waiting to hear back from them since I emailed them, but if this all works out, my plan to start up a small photography business (doing portraiture or what have you) will work out beautifully

And, just so this isn’t completely pictureless:

Soon, I will no longer see these towering skyscrapers, which I cannot say, I’m going to miss.

Where in we discuss all that is wrong

It is way too damned hot here. Way too hot.

There’s nothing worse than hot, humid oppressive heat, except hot, humid, oppressive, poor air quality heat. In fact, I heard somebody say the other day “you know, Vancouver has pretty good air quality!”. Ya, perhaps when in comparison to Toronto and L.A., but that doesn’t make it “not bad”. In fact, when I can see the smog hanging over the river, yes, then I would consider it bad.

That being said, I’ll be extremely happy when I move and the air will be (shocking!) clean! I will be able not to feel like there’s five pounds resting on my chest.

You’ll have to excuse me, I don’t fare well in heat (must be the red hair and the lack of pigment in my skin) not to mention, I just had what I thought would be my last visit to the dentist and I found out that I have to go one more time to get a bunch of fillings that will probably require several needles in my mouth not to mention a severe dent in my wallet.

Did I mention I’ve been to the dentist four times in two months? Go to the dentist kids, don’t put it off, believe me, it’s not worth it.

PS – I’m moving in 20 days.  New city, new adventures.

Honeymoon Camisole – Finished!

I finally finished the honeymoon camisole! I say finally simply because I had to rip it back, not because it took me a long time. This is an absolute pleasure to knit, I love it so much I'm going to knit myself another one (in natural white.

I love it so much. It's so comfortable. I used Sonata – 100% Mercenized cotton (which is a pleasure to knit with) in deep olive.

I changed the shaping on the pattern a bit, switching the armhole shaping and v-neck and back shaping. I did this because I found when I had knit it the first time staying true to the pattern I was flashing the entire world my bits, and while some women get off on doing such things, I don't. Plus, what's the point of knitting if you don't make something customized for your body?

That being said, Julia the designer is a wonderful gal and I all urge you to go and check out her blog.

In non-knitting related news (it's true, there is some) I'm taking the day off work (as I did yesterday) because I feel like crap. However, that doesn't mean I'll be resting much, no no. Seeing as I'm moving cities in three weeks, I need to get my shit together, and that means packing and cleaning. It's good to have B. here telling me I'm doing awesome, because after hours and hours of working it doesn't feel like I've done a thing.

Good news is though, I'm getting rid of boxes of stuff so paring down is always a good thing.

Here's a negative print of a building in the town where I'm moving:

So this is where I will be blogging from now on. Most of you know that I used to be with but to follow along with the new beginnings in my life, I'm ditching the old domain that I've had for far too long.

If you look to the top left hand corner of the bar over there you'll see a bloglines subscribe button. Click it if you want to read along on bloglines.
I promise a fun knitting update soon. I'm almost done my honeymoon cami by Julia Trice who was more than helpful when I needed to ask her something about the pattern.

A promise of things to come

Things will/have been changing considerably for me. That means that in a month I will no longer have the domain I have had for five years. I might feel the need to blab somewhere on the net, so this will become my home until I get myself another domain (or perhaps I won't and this will just be it?).
